Planning the next year

Ready or not, it’s 2020. For the past two weeks, my mind has been simmering on 2019. Recalling the good, the bad, and the lovely. I have been thinking about what I did and how I feel about it. My conclusion is… it was a good year. My achievements were more than I could imagine. I possibly took on more than I should have, but I got through it and I am back for more. The big thing I learned this year is how important planning the next year is; working ahead is essential.

My word for last year was “hustle” and feel like I did a lot of hustling throughout the year. At times yes, I felt burnt out, but my dad always says what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. This following grid is a compilation of most of my projects done last year. For 2020, my word will continue to be “hustle” but I will add a new word like leverage or sprout. I am in no rush, so I think I will sit on it a little and let it simmer.

My goals for 2020 are to:
Leverage past work
Work smarter
Plan and prepare better aka work ahead
Release more patterns
Work on year long projects such as quilting, quotes or/and drawing

Planning the next year

Over the next few weeks, I will be putting together my Happy Planner. I bought a cover for it on Zulily. EEEK I am so excited. It even says hustle on it. Sew perfect! A few years back, I created some downloadable quilting planner sheets that I will add to my current planner. If you want to go back to the original post where I share those downloads, here is a link to that. Today I filled out my UFO sheet. That way I know what projects I have in the works and (fingers crossed) hopefully can cut that list in half. If you are interested in that post, click here for that link.

One of my favorite things to do is look up the color of the year, for 2020 it is blue.

This year I am sharing with you some more sheet, I will use while I’m planning the next year. I love it because it has all of the months on one page, so it is the perfect way to see the whole year at one time and write out things to do. That way you can evenly add stuff to your year and move things around easily. Goals, to-do items, meetings, vacations . . . You can use it for anything. I also have a six month sheet. Here is the link to three new sheets. Let me know what you think about these downloads and if there is a sheet that you are wishing you had but don’t. I hope they make planning the next year easy and fun.

I wish you all a wonderful and happy new year!
