We are well into June!! That means that we are almost halfway through the year. Holy moly this year has flown by. It also means that it is dairy month. Since I am a dairy farmer and I come from generations of dairy farmers, I like to do something special in June. I think there’s something wonderful about working and caring for animals, our land and creating nature’s perfect drink, milk. It is fascinating to me that 2% of the population of the USA provide all sorts of foods which feed the majority in the USA. Yes, some food is imported but for the most part we are still able to sustain ourselves with 2%… That’s Crazy! And I love food. It’s so much fun to eat at a new restaurant or try a new recipe.
Recently, I ran across a new cookbook called The Greek Yogurt Kitchen by Toby Amidor. I just love it. There are so many recipes that cover every eating need: Breakfast, Smoothies, Side Dishes, Sandwiches, Entrees, Desserts. And it allows you to create a variety of tastes from around the world. The author has packed this book full of delicious, healthy meals. What’s best is that they are not complicated to make. They are not going to take you half a day to make. In fact the most time consuming recipe will take you 4 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish, only because it needs to be refrigerated for 4 hours. (scroll down to see pics of my creations)
I thought it would be a perfect giveaway for this month… well this and five fat quarters of Farm Girl designed by October Afternoon a collection from Riley Blake Designs.

Recipes that I have made so far
Tropical Island Ice Pops-
So Good. I think it will become a staple in my freezer
Mashed Cauliflower Gratin-
Reminds me of a healthier mac & cheese. Hubby said 5 stars out of 5
Lemon Blueberry French Toast-
The sauce is delicious. Remembering my mom’s French Toast, I let the bread dry out. However I didn’t let it set in the fridge overnight so it was a little too dry. I plan on making this many times to perfect it.

I’m so happy to see this on IG! I grew up on a dairy farm (3 generations) and our 4-H group when I was a kid, celebrated June is Dairy Month every year…..even though we were the only dairy farmers in our group (my brother and I). Once, I even had to be interviewed on our local radio station….it was more like an Ad, because it wasnt very long!? I absolutely love Greek yogurt and use it in everything!❤ I’d love that recipe! Thanks for such an awesome and memorable giveaway!❤
